A Brief Discussion on the Characters in Water Margin (Sixteen)

 1. Liang Zhongshu cherished Yang Zhi much, and they were never apart day and night. This shows that he had little prejudice in using people and had a heart to cherish talents. Moreover, the likes Suo Chao, Li Cheng, and Wen Da can also be called talents, and they were willing to serve Liang Zhongshu wholeheartedly, also proves this. This is particularly rare among the high-ranking officials mentioned in the book Water Margin. 

2. Besides the common problem of accepting bribes that almost no could avoid at that time, as an official, Liang Zhongshu seemed to follow certain principles in his work and treatment of others, and his behavior norms had a certain bottom line. He was not like Gao Qiu, who "had no knowledge of benevolence, righteousness, propriety, wisdom, faith conduct, loyalty, or goodness."

 3. Zhang Dujian can indeed be considered the most sinister person in Water Margin. Gao Qiu, with his "bee and snake body," was already very cunning in his plot to frame loyal ministers, but compared to Zhang Dujian, he still seemed to be inferior.

 4. Whenao Yane was suffering from lovesickness for Lin Chong's wife, and Lu Qian and Fu An were designing to frame Lin Chong, Gao Q still hesitated at first, but of course, he eventually implemented it. However, Zhang Dujian personally planned such a cunning trap for a small amount of bribery presented Jiang Men Shen, who was the confidant of his sworn brother (Zhang Tuanlian). 

5. Wu Song was a man of integrity, but he was very meticulous in his thinking and good at observing facial expressions and colors. The process of avenging his brother Wu Da and the investigation of the case before and after as well as the humorous performance of pretending to be drugged by Sun Erniang's knockout drug at the Cross Slope Hotel, all show the wisdom hidden under heroic appearance.
