1. Lu Xun always said that etiquette and education kill people, referring to how in feudal society, "etiquette" and "education" often indiscriminately determine people's fates. Because everyone did not bother to explore who Jin Chuan'er really was, they simply assumed she was a promiscuous woman based on the fact that she was driven out by her master.
Secondly, there are many characters, both major and minor, in "Dream of the Red Chamber", and the descriptions of Baoyu, Daiyu, and Baochai are very complete. For example, Jin Chuan'er only has such a small passage, and later she commits suicide.
III. However humble the characters may be, you can still sense Cao Xueqin's care for them. Presumably, they are all people he encountered or had relationships with during his lifetime.
Fourth, I have always referred to "Dream of the Red Chamber" as a "record of repentance". In his later years, Cao Xueqin reflected on his life and felt that he had let down many people, including Jin Chuan'er.
5. "Dream of the Red Chamber" depicts a highly comprehensive Eastern society. Within the Eastern ethical and value system, Jin Chuan'er's jumping into the well is inevitable. She would have to bear the stigma of being an unruly girl wherever she went, and she certainly would not survive.
