1. Lu Xun always said that etiquette and education kill people, referring to how in feudal society, "etiquette" and "education" often indiscriminately determine people's fates. 5. "Dream of the Red Chamber" depicts a highly comprehensive Eastern society. Within the Eastern ethical and value system, Jin Chuan'er's jumping into the well is inevitable. She would have to bear the stigma of being an unruly girl wherever she went, and she certainly would not survive.
